City Cabs has been serving Edinburgh since 1925. We are committed to providing safe, reliable and professional taxi services for every customer, whether you're booking through our App, online, by telephone or hailing one of our licensed Black Cabs.
These Terms of Service explain how bookings are managed, how fares are calculated and what customers can expect when travelling with City Cabs. By making a booking or travelling with us, you agree to these terms.

Booking your taxi.
Booking methods
Taxis can be booked using the City Cabs App, online, by telephone or by hailing one of our licensed Black Cabs where permitted.
Advance bookings
We will make every reasonable effort to provide your taxi as close as possible to your requested booking time. Arrival times cannot be guaranteed due to traffic conditions, weather, road closures, major events, vehicle availability or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Vehicle requests
Requests for larger vehicles, wheelchair accessible taxis, pet-friendly vehicles or other preferences will always be accommodated where possible but remain subject to availability.
Booking cancellations
If you no longer require your taxi, please cancel your booking as soon as possible so the vehicle can be offered to another customer.
Fares and payment.
Taxi fares
Unless a fixed fare has been agreed in advance, all journeys are charged using the official taxi meter approved by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Fare estimates
Fare estimates shown on our website or within the City Cabs App are provided for guidance only. The final fare will be based on the official taxi meter.
Airport charges
Edinburgh Airport access charges, tolls and any applicable surcharges will be added to the fare where appropriate.
Payment methods
All City Cabs vehicles accept cash and all major debit and credit cards.

Be ready for your taxi
Please be ready to travel at your requested collection time. Drivers may be unable to wait indefinitely, and waiting time may be charged in accordance with the official taxi meter.
Behaviour
Drivers have the right to refuse or terminate a journey where a passenger behaves in a threatening, abusive or unsafe manner, or where carrying the passenger would place anyone at risk.
Care of vehicles
Customers are responsible for any damage caused to a vehicle during their journey and may be liable for reasonable cleaning or repair costs where appropriate.

Professional service
We aim to provide a safe, reliable and professional service for every customer and continually invest in technology, training and our fleet to improve your experience.
Lost property
If you believe you've left an item in one of our vehicles, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll make every reasonable effort to reunite you with your property, although City Cabs cannot accept liability for items left in vehicles.
Privacy
Any personal information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
