Q. Can we book a taxi in advance and how would I go about doing this?
A. City Cabs will be more than happy to accommodate an advanced booking just call us on 0131 228 1211 or download our Booking App if you have an iPhone or Android phone. If you are looking to book an airport transfer or wedding car go to our home page and click on the relevant link.
Q. Where can I enquire about lost property?
We don’t have a lost property department so if a driver finds anything in the taxi he is instructed to hand it in to a police station.

Q. How can I pay for my taxi?
A. City Cabs accept cash and all major credit and debit cards. Our terminals accept contactless payments. If you are a business we also provide credit account facilities.
Q. I am a business, do you offer corporate accounts and if so how can I open one and what are your payment terms?
A. City Cabs can tailor accounts to meet specific requirements. We would be more than happy to help you with this. Please call our Corporate Account Manager on 0131 656 0844 or email sales@citycabs.co.uk to discuss in more detail or go to our home page and click on the corporate customer link and send us a message. We offer 30 day credit facilities and once invoiced you can pay by BACS, credit card or cheque.
Q. Can I book an airport transfer?
A. Of course, we have taxis situated at Edinburgh Airport and we’d be more than happy to take you to where you need to be, go to the home page and click on the airport transfers link.
Q. How much will my taxi cost?
A. The cost of your journey will depend on the distance and time of day the journey takes place. All our fares are regulated by The City of Edinburgh Council and our tariffs can be viewed on the City of Edinburgh Council Website.
Q. Can your taxis accommodate wheelchairs?
A. All our taxis have wheelchair access facilities, just ensure that you request this when you call to book.
Q. I need a package delivered can you do this for me?
A. City Cabs will be more than happy to deliver your package, all we will require is to take payment in advance so call us on 0131 228 1211 to arrange the delivery.
Q. I live outside Edinburgh will you take me home?
A. City Cabs will be more than happy to take you home just call us on 0131 228 1211 or ask your driver for a price.
Q. I am on the top floor of my building and cannot see out on the street how do I know my taxi has arrived?
A. If you can provide us with a mobile number we will ring your mobile phone a couple of times to let you know that your taxi is approaching.
Q. Can you pick up my children on their own and how do I know they will be safe?
A. Of course we can pick up your children, City Cabs have contracts with several local schools as well as with the Social Work Department and Edinburgh Young Carers. All of our drivers have gone through a Full Disclosure Scotland check to ensure their safety.
Q. What happens if you do not answer my call?
A. City Cabs have a fantastic record when answering customer calls and on average over 99% of our calls are answered within 2 seconds. The only time you may be expected to wait is when the weather is particularly bad or during a busy weekend night.
